So…

fyeahdickanddamian:

How many days til Damian comes back like every other comic book character?

If Damian is truly dead, I give it four to six months, tops. Sales will dwindle. Fans will stay mad. People will criticize the new choice of Robin. DC will cave.

Although, they’ve been content to ignore us all in the past, but this is a foul move and I don’t think it will take very long for Damian to return in one form or another.

I’m betting on Talia stealing Damian’s body without Bruce’s permission and re-animating him in the Lazarus Pit; leading to her raising him herself again, ala Brotherhood Of The Bat style. Keeping the fact he’s alive from Bruce with a big fall out.

Either way. I won’t be touching any Batman story if Harper becomes Robin. That’s just insulting.

XD I’m subjecting you to all sorts of WNLIPs and experiments lately, sorry ‘bout that. XDD
This… I’m not sure whether this is the product of Damian’s wishful thinking, or of mine. This was honestly supposed to be something else: Dami falling asleep during patrol, with his head on Steph’s shoulder. Then. This happened. I suppose I just wish veryvery much for Talia to be an awesome mom? Or at least for Dami to HAVE an awesome mom….?
Anyway, what I guess happened is: the baby’s fallen asleep, and imagines mom’s with him. ;_;

Hrm I have ambivalent feelings towards these two.

This is so beautiful. The blue of Jason’s eyes is especially gorgeous; and I love the soft, seductive look in Talia’s half-lidded gaze. Wonderful work.

Batman #666?

The awesomeness of Damian Wayne in the trench-coat Batsuit?

Oh sweet merciful God, yes!

(Plus going back to Talia…oh that is so Brotherhood Of The Bat retelling,

I love it!)

I’m actually excited!

Let’s just take a moment and appreciate four of the only individuals ever to hit Bruce “the Goddamn Batman” Wayne in the face and get away with it, shall we?

All four of these characters are Made of Awesome and I defy anyone who says otherwise. ;-)

I also love the fact that Dick and Steph, who so often get characterized as “the Nice Ones” by fandom, are the only* two Batkids ever to just get completely fed up with Bruce’s nonsense and decide to literally smack some sense into him. I love it. Because yeah, Dick and Steph are both sweet and warm and lovely, and that’s a huge part of who they are, but they’ve also both got serious tempers, and they are not to be trifled with, and if you push either of them far enough, they’re not going to keep playing nice with you, Batman or no. And I think that’s a side of both of them which tends to get overlooked a lot.

Also, someone really needs to get Talia out of Grant Morrison’s clutches and restore her to her former awesome. Just saying.

*To the best of my knowledge. If I’m wrong about that, please feel free to correct me.

**Also, for the record, I do like Bruce and I am definitely NOT in favor of violence in relationships. But you can’t deny that Bruce really does deserve a smack sometimes. He’s a good person at heart, I really believe that, but man alive, he can be an epic jerk at times, and he’s put the people closest to him through a lot. Can’t blame ‘em for snapping every now and then.

DC COLLECTIBLES TO UNVEIL EXCITING NEW SLATE OF COLLECTOR ITEMS AT NEW YORK COMIC CON

(Oh how badly do I want those Dick Grayson/Nightwing and Talia al Ghul figurines. Especially Talia, the only one I can ever track down is her from Batman TAS, which is like hens teeth.)

Semi NSFW?

Can I just say how much I love Talia’s silky hair? It looks just like the Bruce Timm design from Batman TAS. Gorgeous.

New Picture and More on “Miranda Tate” and “John Blake” from The Dark Knight Rises

dcwomenkickingass:

Who is Miranda Tate? What is her relationship with Bruce Wayne? And what does John Blake have in common with Bruce Wayne?

Click through!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: John is Dick’s middle name. It was his father’s name. Blake means, dually, ‘dark’ and ‘pale’ (i.e gray) and also ‘son of the lake’ (son). Couple it with a reference to the comics in which Dick was a cop during the early run of Nightwing, plus Nolan’s cheeky remark of “No Robin” remains in place. Nightwing is no longer Robin, is he?

Edit: Also, Dark Son. Son of the Dark Knight?

They’ve been giving it away for months, darlings.

Preview of Batman, Inc. #2 - “something for the girls” says Morrison

dcwomenkickingass:

USA Today has an interview with Grant Morrison about Batman, Inc. #2 which will focus on Talia al Ghul:

Grant Morrison focuses on the femme fatale Talia al Ghul in the new issue of his relaunched Batman Incorporated series for DC Comics, an origin story that’s “one for the girls,” the writer says with a laugh.

“We get to see how she became the woman she is and what it’s like to be the privileged daughter of one of the most important and dangerous men in the world.”

“Something for the girls”? Silly Grant Morrison, girls don’t read comics!

I’m very interested to read this as I haven’t been a fan of Morrison’s treatment of Talia in his Batman arc. Whatever nuance that character had under other writers (including Judd Winick) has, to date, been eradicated under Morrison who writes her as various levels of revenge filled evil. (I did a post about that here.) But that may change with this issue.

“She has to have a point of view, even if it is slightly megalomaniacal. You can see in issue 2 how she was framed by her father and how he brought her up and how that then reflected on Damian and so on, and it’s a tragedy through generations,” he adds.

“Where do you finally pull the plug on something like that? It’s more of a human story than maybe the stuff we’ve done before.”

And it seems her origin is also, in typical Morrison way, a hat tip to another origin. Here’s a panel from tomorrow’s issue:

Here’s a panel from Batman: Year One:

You think he might be drawing parallels between them?

I’m sort of in love with the variant cover to Batman Incorporated #2 by the incomparable Cameron Stewart.

I think I will cry and crawl into a ball if I can’t get this variant cover. What a gorgeous Neal Adams tribute it is.
