—from Batman: the Dark Knight #9 (2012)
I know most people were upset by the misleading cover page (aka the lack of Tim Drake), but I actually thought that this was one of the more enjoyable “Night of the Owls” stories this month.
AND DICK LOOKS HOT HERE. HIS HAIR IS SO NICE. OKAY.omfg tim
Dick, you’re beautiful in any stupid reboot. Damian is so cute I want to pinch his little cheeks. Bruce is Bruce.
Tim… fuck this reboot. Damn it all to Hades and I hate everyone. From now on anyone who says they’re enjoying the reboot I’m going to show them a picture of Tim Drake as Red Robin. Anyone else notice that he looks like Kole, from the New Teen Titans, now?:
"What I'm asking you may cuase you to loose many, many followers so feel free not to answer. What are your favorite and down right can't stand Titans pairings? I'm sorry for bugging you I just enjoy picking your brain for your Titans opinions and am excited for your NTT video reviews (unless I already missed them somehow)."
No trouble at all. (I’m sorry this took a few days to answer, I had to think about this one.) The videos have been put on hold, because of lack of interest and I’m not done editing the last of them, so look for them a bit later in the year. I may have another video review up soonish, though, one that’s not so intense.
My favored Titans ships? I have to point out that most of my judgement will be based upon my own feelings, my age group (I’m in my mid-twenties,) and my personal tastes, so followers don’t get offended.
Top 5 Favourite Titans Pairings:
5. Red Star and Pantha

4. Joe Wilson/Jericho and Raven

3. Raven and Gar Logan/Beast Boy

2. Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing and Koriand’r/Starfire

1. Donna Troy/Troia and Roy Harper/Arsenal

If DC called me up tomorrow and said: “We want you to pick a favorite pairing right now and we’ll make it so,” I’ll immediately request these two (mostly because we all know Dick/Babs is canon endgame.) I did cry a lot when I realised that there’s a possiblity that Donna never existed, because Roy was flirting with her from the first time they were kids and wanted to marry her! (Donna had to turn him down because Lilith told her a red haired man she married would die a tragic death. That ended up being Donna’s first husband, Terry.)

They work. They do and I wish so hard that we had more time with them as a couple.

Top 5 Least Shipped Titans Pairings
5. Kyle Rayner/Green Lantern and Donna Troy/Troia

4. Koriand’r/Starfire and Ph’y

3. Tim Drake/Robin/Red Robin and Stephanie Brown/Spoiler/Batgirl

(I love Steph. Tim just has one agenda though, she shouldn’t wait on him.)
2. Wally West/Kid Flash/Flash and Frances Kane

(John and Yoko of the NTT. Modern Day YJ equivalent: Spitfire.)
1. Conner Kent/Superboy and Cassandra Sandsmark/Wonder Girl

(Miss Bossy-hipsters and Mr Sparkly boyfriend. Let’s hope YJ improves them.)
[Lian Harper. The Titans Secret Files and Origins #2 (2000)]
(Prepare for Lian Harper spam for the rest of the day to celebrate Lian appearing for the first time in Young Justice.)
Huh. So maybe Cheshire does love Lian after all. I wish that Roy and Donna had gotten together. Even though I’ve never read any issues where they’re a couple I think it sounds nice.
Try The Titans V1 from 1999-early 2000s. They were also a teeny-bopper couple, on and off, during the original Teen Titans in the 60s/70s, but The Titans is where Roy and Donna have an adult relationship…for a little while.
[The Titans: Secret Files and Origins #1 (1999)]
Victor Stone, Lian Harper, Roy Harper and…Salad Head. (aka Gar Logan)
[Lian Harper. The Titans Secret Files and Origins #2 (2000)]
(Prepare for Lian Harper spam for the rest of the day to celebrate Lian appearing for the first time in Young Justice.)
Roy meets his daughter Lian.
(Tales Of The Teen Titans #80 [1986] vs Young Justice Invasion:Salvage[2012])
It’s not hard to see the inspiration for this scene in YJ today. For all those who are DC comic fans this is both bittersweet and lovely. Thank-you Young Justice creators, this was a beautiful scene.
Kori carrying Dick. :)
[Titans #50]
I extra love this because it’s like his action pose is LEADERSHIP. You can tell it’s leadership because he’s pointing and saying something. I keep trying to find a way to say that I’m proud of what a good leader Dick is, but it keeps sounding like I’m flippantly joking about it. But it’s true. You’re a good leader Dick. I’m proud of you and I’m glad your action pose is leadership.
I like it even more that he can confidentiality give commands while wearing tiny scaly shorts and while his alien princess girlfriend is carrying him like a baby. Absolutely secure in his manhood. I’m actually serious about that. Sometimes it seems to me that some of the 80’s comics were more progressive in what they portrayed than what much of the DCnU has to offer.
"I've noticed you don't seem to be too fond of TTv3, not that I blame you. It's an era in Titans that while it had good points, the majority of it felt miserable and recycled plots to me. And yes, I'm even including Johns' run. Many consider it the best thing since W/P but to me it had many of the continuity & characterization issues as the rest of v3, especially with the former YJers and Raven. I have just as many issues with the reboot TT but also I'm not upset TTv3 was erased."
I agree completely. I mostly took issue with the characterisation of the original Young Justice kids, that apart from Bart Allen, suddenly had a personality lobotomy and they were hardly likable at all. It was just like: “Hey! You loved the characters in TT, NTT and The Titans, right? Well, we’re giving you no choice but to have our ‘Modern’ counterparts to continue that legacy; and we’re going to make them super-emo…just like you!’

Really, DC? I was a teenager when they started that run and I was furious at what the writers did to the Young Justice cast, as well as the ridiculous writing for Vic, Kory, BB and Raven. Modern characters my ass…it stands nowadays as a preliminary example of what questionable things these writers, (especially Geoff Johns,) have done now with the New 52 Flashpoint reboot.
For some reason, when Tim was in any of the “Bat-books” he was pleasant, sweet and an adorable nerdy kick-butt. Read him in any of the V3 TT and…holy Hell…that’s not Tim…who put this emo, depressed, grouchy try-hard in Timothy Drake’s Robin costume?
Cassandra…I don’t know where to start with her. (I’m pleased to see her personality is much better in the animated Young Justice.) Rude, arrogant and clearly playing Conner and Tim off of each other.
(Funny thing is, like everyone else I expected Conner and Tim to run off together after reading this series. I was all like: “Go. Run off together just to spite her if nothing else.” And this was long before Tim was angsty over Conner death and didn’t seem as hung up on poor Steph’s death. At least this series did convince me of Tim’s real sexuality, even if the writers didn’t intend it.)
Conner was…I don’t know. He seemed to have gained so much during YJ and then all his independence and cute little playboy tendencies flew out the window because of his: “Undying loyalty to Cassandra Sandsmark. Love of my life.” I’m all for commitment and written well it would be fine but…it was the Edward and Bella of its time and so convenient you were ready to hurl chunks. (Not to mention Cass and Tim making out after Conner’s death…eww.)
I’ll ignore that for the moment. Mostly because I’ll probably suffer a stroke, (on behalf of not only myself, but all founding writers of the English tongue; my English teachers and lecturers,) over how akin to bad fanfiction it remains. Lets hope that if this Con/Cass relationship shows up in animated YJ it will be written much better.
Bart Allen. My baby. My sole reason for continuing to read those comics on and off. I think I enjoyed Flash: The Fastest Man Alive, for the pure reason it gave Bart his independence, (like when he was in his Impulse comics,) away from his two-dimensional teammates and their angsty, hormonal problems.
(To this day if they gave Bart Allen his own comic, it would be, for me, one of the only comics outside of the Bat-family I’d keep up with.)
As for the “NTT” members of the team…I don’t know. They were severely lacking the maturity they really should of had as a sort of “Mentors” to the young set. (Maybe that added to why I actually enjoy V2 of The Titans?)
I’m happy to see some of the more recent history erased, but I’m not happy with Lobdell and his: “MY TEEN TITANS ARE THE ONLY TEEN TITANS WHO EVER EXISTED!”
(Don’t get me started on the New 52 TT please. It hurts to have to tolerate Lobdell writing three comics, not to mention there’s rumors of him writing for Superman…

Geoff Johns only did one thing right, in my opinion, and that was writing Wally West as The Flash, back in the nineties. Now we’ve got to deal with his idea of a Justice League and what the holy Hell he did to Billy Batson/Captain Marvel. Not impressed.
Really, if I have to choose a medium involving the YJ and TT characters, I’m very happy with the animated Young Justice. The writers and artists actually care about the 50 year history of the Teen Titans and Young Justice; and not just about the Big Three.
