Wanted

If you thought they were bad pre-reboot in the DCU, you won’t believe  your eyes…I can only suggest, but unless you like to suffer, stay away from this comic series.

(Seriously. If you think Red Hood And The Outlaws is bad, this complete disgrace to the Titans legacy is ten times worse than that series. I only picked it up because I love Bart Allen…but he’s not the same. And don’t get me started on Tim Drake…please don’t…)

All I can say is if this is what DC is offering as the “ONLY TEEN TITANS WHO EVER EXISTED” rant, I’m thinking there is something seriously wrong with them. Teen Titans was once a proud legacy who changed comics in the eighties…now it’s in disgrace and I’m very sad.

(I was surprised by the number of people who seemed frustrated that this graphic didn’t include one character or another. 

Here’s the deal. There are nine spaces. One is for Mr. Brady. One for Mrs. Brady. One for Alice. There are three spaces for boys and three for girls. I went with the first 3 Robins and 3 Batgirls. If you can find an iconic visual from a TV show opening that has room for 12 or more characters, I’ll happily take another stab at it…)

I screamed.

I love seeing them all together but really New 52 when did Dick get so tall??? All I can think about when I see panels from these issues is that Dick looks too tall in comparison to Jason and Babs. My height chart (tallest to shortest): Bruce, Jason, Barbara, Dick, Tim, Damian.

I think I like Dick being taller than Babs and Jason. Babs because it makes them look better as a couple. Jason because Dick was the first Robin and he’s also older.

See I guess I never minded it because I thought Dick had a decent height. Like he would still be taller than me, for example. So he isn’t short but he isn’t tall compared to some of the guys in the hero biz (think a decent sized guy in the NFL or NBA — he always sticks out but he is still far from “short”). And I always thought it fit his acrobatic nature/movements better.

As for Dick/Babs I always picture Babs just like half an inch taller — if that. Like it’s barely noticeable but she’s still a tiny bit taller.

Official stats say that Dick is about five foot ten and Babs is a stately five foot seven. I’ve always liked that the two are a realistic height difference, give Babs leg to waist ratio as she has been drawn since the sixties. Dick at 5’10 is a normal height. (And really, Bruce is  6’1, sometimes the artists exaggerate. Jason is supposed to be around about the same height as Bruce. Tim is about 5’6 - 5’7, also of an average height. Damian is about five foot or just over.)
